"Pretty Boy" Mayweather vs Angel Manfredy, and then Hamed

Yeah. I saw it. Genaro's quitting took me away from enjoying Floyd's
victory though. What's with fighters quitting now. Is that a new thing
or what? It just makes me appreicate guys like Gatti and Holyfield all
the more.
I think Manfredy vs Mayweather will be a good one. Either of these guys would be a good fight for Hamed too.

Each of these guys (Manfredy. Mayweather and Naseem)
Have one outstanding trait each. Manfredy-technique , Mayweather-Speed,
Naseem-Power. Which one of these abilities do you think is the
most important.

I'm very impressed with Manfredy, but as yet havent seen Mayweather
fight, but the way I heard he took apart Hernandez, I hope "El Diablo"
puts him on the deck for the 10 count!

That's a tough one, Bones. I guess the only answer, is it depends on
how you use your 'trait'. Hamed's power can bail him out of virtually any
situation. But on the other hand, it can also get him into trouble. He
runs the risk of depending on his power TOO much. Also, he is often off-balance
quite often after throwing those big shots. It hasn't cost him yet, but
there have been a few close calls.
I would say that Manfredy's technique is, arguably, the most valuble trait. But only because of the total package that Angel represents. His trait is packaged by good power, a phenominal chin, and a very good attitude. He seems to have the mental toughness that a boxer at this level needs. The same cannot be said for Mayweather (yet).
Hmmn, I guess I never really answered your question very well (at all???). I suppose that if you were going to start training a young guy from scratch, then power would be the most desirable of the 3 traits that you mentioned. Power is the only trait that cannot be taught. Tough question, all around.

The Gumpster was ringside for Hernandez-Mayweather. This kid is the
goods! I will respectfully disagree with Mr. Bakich re: Genaro not winning
a round - virtually every judge, ref or other boxing official ringside
(Gump included) gave Genaro the 1st round by a whisker. Nobody gave him
another. Genaro boxed like hell then FOUGHT like hell! Didn't make any
difference WHAT he did - Mayweather is THAT good! As far as being a human
being, Genaro wins that one - I spoke to him for a while in the casino
earlier in the afternoon. Nice guy. Excellent champion. The king is dead,
long live the king!
